About Us

Robert Howard MBE has been in the wall and floor tiling business for over 50 years, starting his career by serving 5 years as an indentured apprentice in Manchester. His excellence as an apprentice was recognised through his achievements in Nationwide Skills Competitions and a distinction in City and Guilds. 

For the past 50 years Robert has specialised in the wall and floor tiling industry. His career has taken him from a tiler to Managing Director of a large multi million pound wall and floor tiling company. Working in high-end domestic, commercial and industrial sectors, his experience spans from his vast practical understanding from strong trade roots, technical and training standards and operational management. The pinnacle of his career was receiving the MBE presented at Buckingham Palace by Her Majesty The Queen in her Jubilee year for services to the wall and floor tiling industry.

Throughout Robert’s life he has been proactive in developing national training standards and working with the CITB in reviewing National Vocational Qualifications for wall and floor tiling. He is one of the authors of various technical guidance publications.
